IXID Membership System

IXID is a membership system that allows proper login and tracking of users and protection of their data during operability sessions with Ixian Corp and the sites that use the same system.

Essentially, IXID provides web sites that implement it access to a whole database of user accounts for every site that desires to use it. It eliminates the need to keep track of users, passwords and "passports", which, as everyone knows, mean one separate user name and password for almost every site that a person ever desires to register on.

IXID wishes to become the leading identity database and management tool of wide use in the World Wide Web, a standard for identity management sufficiently powerful yet simple enough to be integrated in most web sites and to provide the user with only one passport and identification tool to remember.

IXID is based on the ASP.NET 3.5 technology. Interoperability with other technologies (Java, PHP, etc.) will be done through accessible modules.

Yes, IXID is free to use.

Websites that implement the IXID system must, however, be registered in our databases before they will be granted permission to access the system. This limitation is enforced so that our system is not abused.

IXID stores by default only a user name, a password, an e-mail address and a security question and answer. A date of creation and a date of last login are also stored.

All other information (such as first and last name, address, etc.) ar optional and do not hinder the normal operation of IXID in any way of they are not introduced. They can be made public or they can be kept private according to the user's wishes. The default is that they will be kept private.

Apart from these, IXID can store other sensitive information about the user. This data will ALWAYS be kept private and will be used only when the user requests that, and only within sites belonging directly to Ixian Corp or affiliated sites with the highest trust level (you can check the trust level of a certain site implementing IXID in the affiliated sites list).

As much as humanly possible, IXID guarantees privacy. Ixian Corp, however, cannot guarantee for privacy in case of situations beyond its control (such as successful hacking attempts, natural or caused disasters, breach of contract, etc.). Though Ixian Corp will try to minimize impact as much as possible in these cases, 100% security cannot be guaranteed.

Best practice is that you do not allow stored data to be used by sites you do not trust and to immediately notify us if you notice any suspicious activities.
